Skills Needed To Create Change

Guest post by Noah Abekah, participant in the current training

My name is Noah Abekah, an IT Programmer at uniBank in Ghana. This mobile training has equipped me with adequate knowledge and skills into technologies like SMS, voiceXml and how it can be used to provide solutions to our everyday social challenges. For example, an SMS application can be develop for a bank for its semi-illiterate customers to access the facilities like; last six transactional statement, check online account balance, request bank stationary (cheque book, bank statement), pay utility bills and buy GSM top-up vouchers. Another technology like voiceXML can be used to provide critical monitoring of servers, and services for a cooperate environment. Prior to the training, I had knowledge in programming but I had no idea as to how to use the knowledge to develop mobile apps. Now not only have I gain skills in mobile apps development but also entrepreneurship skills especially on how to focus on everyday social challenges, analyze them and find solutiosn to these problem. Besides, I also learned the techniques involve in setting up my own initiative. Moreover, various presentations performed by previous trainees really encourage me to attend the whole training program. It has been very productive for me and all knowledge I acquired will be utilized and all my ideas will be implemented.  And I will end my blog with a quote from Victor Kiam “An entrepreneur assumes the risk and is dedicated and committed to the success of whatever he or she undertakes”.
