The hard work first, then success will come.

I know and understand how challenging it is to be an entrepreneur in Ghana, despite all the power cuts and internet connection disruptions etc.  I am positive that some of you haven’t given up yet. Most of the projects I have heard about from Ghanaian developers are potential successful start ups but, it will take an undivided focus and greedy guts for any one to make it to the top of Ghana’s successful entrepreneurs.
The focus is to solve local problems and there’s no doubt we have many. This is an opportunity and environment that sparks innovation. Look around for problems, think on your feet, work hard and purpose within yourself that you will build a company no matter the challenges. The tougher the challenges, the greater your story. If you weren’t born in the royal palace of England or in the White-House in Washington DC then it’s up to make your dream come true. Many people have built successful companies from the ground up with literally nothing to start with. If it has been done by more than 6 people in different countries with very different backgrounds and unique experiences, I’m sure it can be done here in Ghana.
It’s ok to think about what we are going to eat and wear for tomorrow, but what would life be like after the next 20 years? Will you still be distributing your CV’s with the hope of getting a better pay, will you be looking to sell your lifetime for some meagre amount of money per month or will you be on the cover of the Forbes magazine as one of Ghana’s most successful businessmen. The time to start is now! Build your company now.
Here’s the trick. In the midst of all the hustle and bustle, try to find time at least one hour every day, (morning or evening) to work on your project, take it bit by bit. Think about the features that need to be implemented when you’re not behind your pc. If you have a smart phone, do some coding on it, take it bit by bit and before you know it, you have an app. That’s how I have decided to work now, set your timelines but, work at your own pace and success will come.
