Danish Students of Journalism and Media Explore Innovation at Mobile Web Ghana and American Corner, Agbogba

Ever wondered how a tech hub in Ghana and a resource center for cultural exchange can inspire the next generation of global thinkers? That’s exactly what 16 Danish students discovered during their visit to Mobile Web Ghana and American Corner, Agbogba.

On November 8, 2024, 16 Danish students visited both Mobile Web Ghana and American Corner, Agbogba as part of their cultural and educational tour in Ghana. The visit provided the students with a deeper understanding of the impactful programs led by both organizations, highlighting the role of technology, education, and cross-cultural exchange in shaping sustainable development.

The session began with a presentation at Mobile Web Ghana, led by Director Florence Toffa. She provided an insightful overview of the organization’s mission and key programs, such as the Africa Digital Skills Conference, Online Work Africa and Ghana Digitour Project, which empowers youth by building digital literacy and entrepreneurial skills

 

The second presentation was done by the American Corner,Agbogba  Coordinator, Estella Hilda Anaman, who touched on the center’s work and its collaboration with the U.S. Embassy Ghana. The students were introduced to programs such as the STEM Series , Living the Digital Series which focuses on misinformation, Disinformation and Cybersecurity Awareness, the SDG’s Youth Innovation Challenge, Shifting Blames Series: Gender based Violence  Advocacy and women empowerment which foster  women empowerment, innovation and problem-solving among young people in Ghana.
 

The interactive session included a Q&A segment where the students asked insightful questions about the challenges and opportunities in promoting digital literacy and fostering entrepreneurship among the youth in Ghana.
 

By the end of the day, the students left with new insights into how organizations like Mobile Web Ghana and American Corner,Agbogba  are driving change through innovation, education, and collaboration. It was a truly enriching experience that showcased the power of global partnerships in creating a more sustainable and equitable world.
