Education USA donates to American Corner Agbogba

On Tuesday 27th July 2021, Education USA visited American Corner Agbogba which is located in Mobile Web Ghana. The team of four, was led by Bernice Affotey who is an educational advisor at the US Embassy Ghana.
Florence Toffa, the Director of Mobile Web Ghana welcomed the team and introduced them to the American Corner. She gave an overview of the activities carried out in the corner which falls in line with the US Embassy’s core themes. These are: STEM, Women Empowerment, Entrepreneurship and American English. There was an amazing dialogue about some of the activities carried out in the Corner which sparked positive feedback from the team. The team was mostly interested in the programs carried out for women on digital skills, empowerment and leadership.
The US EmbassyGhana team made a kind donation of books to the Corner. These books are resources aimed at helping students or professionals prepare for international exams in the USA, write graduate essays and search for universities and colleges in the United States of America. They donated books ranging from GRE, GMAT, SAT, ACT, TOEFL, Colleges and Universities as well as information on specific graduate programs all aimed at making research and learning easy for the student.
EducationUSA offers a range of free services to students in Ghana to help them understand and choose colleges or universities in the United States. There are two EducationUSA Advising Centers in Ghana. There is one located at the US Embassy Accra and the other located at ACE Consult in Asokwa-Kumasi. Nevertheless, the center in Accra remains closed due to the Covid-19 situation, while the center in Kumasi is open to the public. American Corner Agbogba is an open access space to the public, which offers current and reliable information about the United States through its resources such as internet access, book collections, events and activities for everyone. Access to the Corner and all programs is free and open to everyone. The Corner is located in Mobile Web Ghana at Agbogba, North Legon near Antis Ltd. The working hours are from Monday to Friday between 9:00am-5:00pm. Whenever you are in the vicinity, do stop by and enjoy the resources.
