Mobile Web Ghana Launches the Ghana Digitour Project to Empower the Youth in Ghana

The Ghana Digitour Project was officially launched on Wednesday,18th September,2024, marking a significant step in boosting digital literacy and skills development across Ghana. This exciting initiative, a collaboration between Simplon Africa and Mobile Web Ghana, aims to equip young Ghanaians with practical digital skills needed to thrive in today’s competitive job market. The launch event, held at Mobile Web Ghana’s premises, saw key dignitaries from the government, private sector, recruitment agencies, and civil society organizations, including special guest Dr. Bouna Kane, CEO of Simplon Africa.

The event began with opening remarks from Ms. Florence Toffa, the Director of Mobile Web Ghana, who provided an overview of the project. She emphasized the importance of digital skills in today’s economy and the commitment of Mobile Web Ghana to empower the youth through practical training programs.

 

Dr. Bouna Kane delivered a keynote speech, emphasizing the crucial role digital skills play in shaping the future of work. He praised the Ghana Digitour Project as a forward-thinking initiative that empowers young people with the tools to succeed in the ever-evolving digital economy. His message resonated with the gathered stakeholders, who represented government bodies, recruitment agencies, private companies, and civil society organizations.

The event featured a panel discussion where past participants of the Ghana Digitour Project shared their personal experiences and how the training had impacted their careers and businesses. With 8 cohorts already trained and more to come, the project is poised to make a lasting impact on the country’s workforce.
