Ghana Digitour Hosts Alumni Engagement to Celebrate Success and Growth

On Thursday, 17th September 2024, as part of our ongoing Ghana Digitour initiative, we hosted a vibrant alumni engagement event to reconnect with and celebrate the successes of past participants. Alumni from across the seven cohorts of the program came together for an afternoon of networking, sharing, and growth.

The event created an open space for these alumni to reflect on their journeys since completing the Ghana Digitour training, and engage in meaningful discussions about how the program has shaped their personal and professional lives.

The highlight of the event was a panel discussion featuring alumni from different cohorts, each sharing their unique stories of how the skills acquired through the Ghana Digitour program have transformed their careers and businesses. Some alumni spoke about how the social media management, design, and digital marketing skills they learned had significantly elevated their brands, allowing them to expand their online presence and reach new customers. Others shared inspiring testimonials of how the training opened doors to new job opportunities in the digital space, enabling them to secure roles in companies that recognize the growing demand for digital skills.

A key moment during the event was the chance for alumni to engage directly with Dr. Bouna Kane, the founder and CEO of Simplon Africa, the organization collaborating with Mobile Web Ghana to implement the Ghana Digitour program. Dr. Kane shared his vision for digital empowerment in Africa and responded to questions from alumni about the future of digital skills training on the continent. His presence and words of encouragement left a lasting impact on the participants, inspiring them to continue applying their skills and driving innovation in their respective fields.

In addition to the panel and Q&A session with Dr. Kane, the event offered alumni a relaxed opportunity to connect with one another on a more personal level. Alumni exchanged business ideas, promoted their ventures, and shared updates on their personal projects. The atmosphere was one of camaraderie and celebration as participants enjoyed food, drinks, and lively conversations.

The Ghana Digitour alumni engagement was not only a reunion but also a reminder of the strong community that has formed through the program. It reinforced the importance of continuous learning, collaboration, and support within the network. As the Ghana Digitour initiative continues to grow, we look forward to further building this alumni network and expanding opportunities for young Ghanaians to thrive in the digital economy.
