GHANA DIGITOUR is a collaborative initiative led by Simplon Foundation and Mobile Web Ghana aimed at equipping the youth in Ghana with essential digital skills. Leveraging over 12 years of experience in technology capacity building, Mobile Web Ghana and Simplon Foundation have joined forces to empower young jobseekers, entrepreneurs ,and project leaders who needs support with the knowledge, skills and exposure they need to succeed in their entrepreneurial project or land themselves a job in today’s digital age.
Mobile Web Ghana in collaboration with the United States Embassy in Ghana launched an initiative dubbed “Youth Media Literacy Program” on Friday, 9th December 2022. The program focuses on empowering the youth to make informed judgments about fake news, and how to use media tools responsibly to solve problems in communities. The key objective of this program is to increase the capacity of youths to understand and consume media content wisely, create and circulate media content responsibly.
The Open Cities Africa, Accra project sought to make Alogboshie and its environs resilient to natural disasters, especially flooding. The project involved the remote mapping of Alogboshie, Akweteyman and Alajo. These are areas of focus in a larger resilience project, Greater Accra Resilience and Integrated Development (GARID), and are all located along the Odaw River which is prone to floods. Alogboshie is a community that is plagued by perennial flooding affecting its residents and those in neighboring communities.
